MacroAI assistant

How MacroAI builds precise plans, suggests alternatives and answers questions.

MacroAI is the app's AI nutrition assistant, built on Google Gemini 2.5 Flash. It acts under the persona of a certified nutritionist and helps you plan meals, answer questions and make decisions aligned with your goals.

What it can do

  • Generate complete diet plans from your targets and preferences.
  • Suggest alternatives to a food while keeping the macros.
  • Recognize meals from a photo and read receipts into the pantry.
  • Explain choices and answer nutrition questions.

One-tap actions

Every MacroAI reply can become an action the app performs for you. As you chat, buttons appear depending on the context:

ActionWhat it does
Create planValidates and saves a structured meal plan.
Set macrosUpdates the macro targets in your profile.
Shopping listAdds products to the pending shopping list.
Log foodAdds the food and quantity to your diary.
Update pantryUpdates stock from photos or receipts.

Precise plans, not "close enough"

The AI proposes, but the math is deterministic. After the model generates a plan, the app recalculates the values, scales the portions and rebalances everything to match your targets — eliminating the small inaccuracies typical of language models. The result is a plan with numerical rigor.

Your profile context

Before answering, MacroAI gathers your context — biometric profile, current targets, pantry inventory, food history from the last 7 days and weight progress. The more complete your profile, the better the suggestions.

Pantry-First Mode

You can ask the AI to use only what you have in the pantry. In this mode, MacroAI designs menus strictly from in-stock ingredients, reducing shopping trips and waste. See Pantry and shopping.

Free plan and Premium

The free plan includes up to 5 AI conversations per day. Heavier AI features are part of Premium — see Profile and settings.
