Pantry and shopping

Manage the kitchen inventory and let the AI build your shopping lists.

The Pantry tab helps you always know what you have at home, what's running low and what you need to buy — cutting down on waste and supermarket trips. It's one of MacroMath's three pillars.

Kitchen inventory

See everything you have, organized and searchable. Each item shows its quantity and stock status. You can increment, decrement and update items quickly.

There are three ways to add:

  1. Manually — type the name and quantity.
  2. By photo — photograph the products and let MacroAI identify them.
  3. By receipt scanning (OCR) — photograph the shopping receipt and the AI extracts the items.

Low-stock alerts

Set the threshold below which an item is considered "low" and the app warns you when it's running out. That way you never run out of essentials and can add them to the next shopping list.

AI shopping lists

MacroAI generates shopping lists from:

  • What's missing in the pantry (low-stock items).
  • Your active diet plans and planned meals.
  • Your preferences and goals.

When you shop, a one-tap checkout moves items from the list straight into the pantry — the inventory stays up to date with no manual work.

Pantry-First Mode

A constraint mode that forces the AI to design menus strictly from in-stock ingredients. Ideal for using up what you already have before buying more. Enable it when asking MacroAI for a plan.

  1. Keep the pantry updated (photo or receipt after each shop).
  2. Enable low-stock alerts.
  3. Ask MacroAI for a shopping list before you go shopping.
  4. Use one-tap checkout as you put the groceries away.

Tip

The pantry also gives context to MacroAI: even without Pantry-First mode, the AI prefers to suggest meals with what you already have.
